How To Deal With Plumbing Problems?

By William 3 years ago plumbing

Plumbing problems can happen often and there is nothing to worry about. You just have to be alert to notice the signs that your home needs plumbing. You must also know when to deal with plumbing problems on your own and when to call in the pros.

Avoid wasting litres of water. Fix a plumbing problem by hiring Plumber Turramurra as soon as you see it.

Here is a List of How You Should Deal With Common Plumbing Problems.

  • Leaky pipes
  • These are very common. Leaky pipes can give rise to a lot of moisture which inturn allows the growth of mold and mildew in your home. To prevent pipes from leaking, the best way is to replace them if it's huge. You can use plumber tape on minor leaks. Another solution is to use putty or clamps on leaky pipes.
  • Dripping taps
  • Dripping taps waste huge quantities of water. The continuous drip drip sound can be so irritating. To fix these, look out for corrosion in the taps. Also look for damaged o-rings in the taps. Some faults in the installation of taps can also result in dripping water.
  • Clogged drains
  • Clogged drains are yet another common plumbing problem. Firstly, always drain out hot boiling water down your drains at least once a month. Use plungers or drain unblocking plumber to get rid of the grime that is blocking your drain. You can also use baking soda and vinegar to clear out accumulation from your drains.
  • Clogged toilets
  • We often witness that water does not flow easily after flushing water in your commode or seats. This is because your toilet is blocked because of papers, hair, diapers and even human waste. Use a sewer snake to remove the accumulated grime. Flush hot water after it is done.
  • Running toilet
  • Just like dripping taps, running water can also waste a huge quantity of water. This has happened to almost all of us. The main reason behind water running down from the flush to the commode bowl is faulty flapper valves. Leaky flush valves can also be a reason. Grab your tool kit and fix these.
  • Low water pressure
  • If you notice a low water pressure in the taps, it indicates that you have a leaky pipe in your home. Look for it and fix it. Showers can also deliver low pressure water. In that case, the sediments are not allowing water to come out. Take the shower head and soak it in a bowl full of vinegar for a night, use brushes and safety pins to take out the extra sediment.

Gas Leak During Plumbing

When you decide to do a plumbing activity on your own, there are chances that you can cut the wrong pipe. This happens without knowing. If it results in a gas leak, shut off the gas supply of your home. Rush out of your home and call your gas agency. Do not try to fix it on your own!
