You might not see leaks as some major problems. This is not necessarily true, leaks tend to get worse by the time if they are not fixed. So, They might give you major problems.

  • Do pour hot boiling water

To prevent the need for plumbing clogged drains, make it a habit to pour boiling water down your drains at least once a month. So, This can prevent the accumulation of hair, grease, soap scum and other debris.

  • Do have the necessary equipments

Do not just start working with any tool. Even a slight wrong knowledge and usage of a tool can result in a huge disaster. So, Some helpful equipment can be pliers, drilling machine, plunger, tubing cutter, wrench, hacksaw, teflon tape, plumbers snake etc.

The Don’ts of Plumbing

  • Do not treat treat your drain like a dustbin

Never throw paper towels, diapers, trash, hygiene products in your drains or toilets. These clogged drains can create problems that might be too big for a DIY job. So, Have a dustbin in your kitchen and bathroom each.

Try not to use chemical cleaners often. These cleaners can corrode pipes and interiors, making them weak. They can also result in an increased clog at times.

  • Do not pour grease down your drains

Avoid discarding grease and cooking oils in your drains. They can accumulate and freeze in the pipes, causing clogging.

  • Do not ignore clogs and leaks

Doing so will only create bigger problems. Leaks and clogs grow worse with time. Use plungers often to keep your drains clog free.

  • Do not ignore gas leaks

As soon as you smell gas, turn off the gas supply, leave things as they are and step out of your homes. This can happen when you cut a pipe without knowing which pipe it was. Call a professional gas leak plumber, let them fix it. Do not take risks by trying to fix gas leaks on your own.
